Thread: Encoding Questions?

    OK i have a few ques...What's the eaisest and fast way to encode to vcd or svcd? I normally use vdub and tmpgenc...

    Is there a way you can just use the avi can any dvd players read avi file and what format exacly would it be called if u can.

    I also want to know if there's any programs where you can use avi's and converts to vcd well it's burning or right before on the fly

    well the kiss dvd player can read avi files dnt know if its brilliant tho
    the best program is said to be TMPEGENC cos the quality is good
    and i nero can convert files to svcd.vcd but the quality is apparantly shit i think thats the ans to your last question it was a bit unclear

    how would u go about putting avi's on a disc so i can test on my dvd player do i just burn the avi to the disc as data or what... Isn't there a real fast way to encode tmpgenc takes a long time>>>

    Sorry, if I don't think there's any way around it. Formatting a file to VCD takes a long, long time. At least that's been my experience.

    I heard there are some that can encode alot faster anyone know which one's?

    it use to take me 6 to 8 hours to encode a 2hour movie with tmpgenc, so i gave in and bought a better pc- hp 563w 2.4 proc.,512,ram,80gig hd,16x dvd, and 48x cdr-w writer only $800 @ walmart, now i can encode any movie in less time than it would take to play it, for example hulk @ 2hrs 12 minutes took 1hr 24m to encode to vcd i think better cpu is only answer to faster encoding

    That's good i guess i'll be getting a new laptop soon sweetness. I just got hackers 2 and don't really want to wait 10hr's for it to finish. just wondering how well does cinema craft encoder do? what quilty and i heard it was faster???
