I think it looks much better with the text, so long as some anti-aliasing is added to smooth it out.

anywho, i think if we're gonna gradiate the top of this image, then the whole top of the page should have that slight gradient...

I like how you ended the gradient at the end of the logo instead of me having to continue it.

If it continues then the ads on top will make it looked fcked anyway.

Also I changed it back to 60px.
I think the last one skizo posted is great (credit goes to you, sunshine, obviously).

Think you could AA the word talk a little bit?

My thought is that if the second line of text is the same length as the site name, they appear to run together. That's why I made it quite a bit smaller and and shorter.

commonly that's the formula to making a slogan as part of the logo

otherwise it looks unbalanced and doesn't keep the "togetherness" feel

i'm trying to think of an example logo... and my mind is drawing a blank
