Ugh. British Columbia isn't in a good enough place financially to host the Olympics. One of the only reasons that Vancouver even put a bid out was so that they could upgrade the Sea-to-Sky. Perhaps if the provincal government recognized that there is far more to British Columbia than Vancouver, then the province'd be better off.

    I miss the NDP.

things are quiet until hitler decides he'd like to invade russia
    so, he does
the russians are like "OMG WTF D00DZ, STOP TKING"
and the germans are still like "omg ph34r n00bz"
the russians fall back, all the way to moscow
and then they all begin h4xing, which brings on the russian winter
the germans are like "wtf, h4x"

Once again Mr. Wizard, you have provided the voice of reason and sobering thought. You are absolutely correct of course, on all points......especially the part about the NDP. B)

Not at all pleased about this. The residents of BC and especially Vancouver are still suffering from the increased cost of living here that came along with expo 86.
It all looks good on CNN and the financial analysts can make it look good for the country, but in the end, if you can't afford to live in that damn country any more, then what use is it? I think this is one more desparate diversion from the reality so many canadians are facing.

There are over 5,000 palm trees in Vancouver. Does this mean the residents are preparing for global warming? Well to keep in touch with this debate click into: drtomorow.com frequently if for no other reason (there are 2,000 pages and 150 hours of Web-TV to check out) than to see our Palm Cam and it's coverage of the various views of Vancouver from Dr. Tomorrow's floating cyberden. It's location is almost directly under the seaplane landing path in Vancouver's Coal Harbour.
