Encoding Questions?

I have a few ques let me explain a little I use tmpgenc to encode my avi and i use the lame external audio encoder and sometimes I use vdub to extract the audio sepretly ok now for the ques.

1. If I have an avi and there's audio sync problems how do i tell how much it lags so i can fix it through tmpgenc.

2. If I encode a movie and I have audio sync problems. normaly i re-encode the whole thing but that takes to long can i fix it in the converted mpg without having to re-encode?

I had one more ques but i can't remember it i'll post that later if i remember.

I would encode a small part of the movie first then stop it and check the audio.

Scan your movie for bad frames using Virtual Dub first and if you have bad frames,then you can choose to mask the bad frames (using the last good frame replacing the bad ones) or delete those frames,guide here:

Checkin for bad frames or if its somthing like xvid usin seperate audio and changin the 4cc code of the avi sometimes helps with sync probs

Try extracting the audio with a program called besweet and then just encode the video with tmpeng once you do that you can remux the two files.

fools, all too complex
use virtal dub, it has an audio stream button, just ajust in seconds the audio sync problem, then correct it. it will work on mpegs but then it will save them to avi. so u will have to re-enocode. still better than a slap isnt it?

yyiryyib what do u mean adjust the sec... I think i understand what ur saying but how do i tell how much the audio is off?
