This is indeed the main reason for this idea. The Christian download one, was another. I was trying to search for a way where serious discussion/debate could carry on without some of the posts that often distract from the topic and to protect members from getting hurt.

Actually there is no real need to create a new section/forum, one already exists, it could be entered with a password according to BOT. Many of the topics posted there have nothing whatsoever to do with filesharing. I am equally sure you wish to keep it.

I will leave it at that, you(read moderators) and the members decide ultimately the future of the Forum, not I. Perhaps you could put this idea to a poll?

I dont want to restrict any part of the Forum with passwords etc...and we did say that the area was for "Serious" debate, generally it stays that way, and we are appreciative of the low level of Spam in the area.


Neither do i wish to delete specific posts...this would be tantamount to "censorship" on the board, and we could be accused of bias etc. if we did this on a regular basis.

So we close the topic, but leave it there...hoping that most people will see why it was closed...maybe leaving a message as to why, if its not obvious.


Its a very delicate situation, whichever way we finally go...and i can gaurantee only one thing...not everyone will be happy.



At the end of the day, im glad it isnt my decision...

Although smillies help in general, they are considered by some to demean serious discussion...so there is a no win situation before any debate starts

Hello Rat Faced, What you said gave me this idea!!!


Why not introduce a webcam forum, you can see each other and hear each other!!! The problem of body language is solved and a brand new dimension for our Forum is created.

It would of course mean that some of our male members would have to tear themselves away from the forum, to have a shave, now and then!
