hi, im using xp professional edition sp1 and i was wondering which anti-virus software is the best to protect my pc from all kinds of viruses? i have found two software which have been highly recommended, these are 'NOD32 Standard Version (Windows NT/2000/XP) 2.5' and 'AVG Anti-Virus Professional 7.5.476'. are these the best anti-virus software out there and if so which one is the better out the two. thanks in advance.

hmmm.it depends of how good your PC is. U can try Kaspersky, but aware that it uses much more resources then Nod or Avg.
I'm using NOD32! It protect my PC from viruses,i use also Ad-Aware to scan pc for other kinds of threads.

Nod32 is the best for older PCs...
I have it in a Pentium 4 1700MHz, 768MB Ram and it runs smoothly.

Currently i use NOD32 and i am fully satisfied with it, i recommend it 4 u, but u can also try Kaspersky, it's a quick powerful antivirus.

But first of all, upgrade your window to SP
    FLiP all the way!
