Thread: Defragging

  1. #1
My comp is running very slowly at the moment, especially Klite. I last installed Xp just over 2 weeks ago & made several partitions on 2 HDs 1 120 Gb & 2 80 Gbs put XP on its own 1 for data 1 for b/up etc 1 just for klite my shared folder. I tried to defrag C drive (XP) & klite drive but nothings happening I tried 4/5 different progs. I even left some overnight still no luck.I thought maybe better to move klite to a different partition & format original & move back. Question is will the files still mbe fragged or not on return?

Have you got the 15% free space necessary for disc defragmentation, on each partition?

I has this same problem, im on Windows ME, all you need to do to fix this is, close every thing thats in your taskbar (down by the little clock) and what doesnt get closed press CTRL+ALT+Delete and end task every thing BUT Explorer, and this should make Defrag work.

get a copy of VoptXP - best defragger out there, you can do a "clean restart" (only loads essential windows files, no other apps) and defrag

it's easily the best defragger out there
