Really does you friend have to "author" the avi cds or does he just burn the avi to the cd.
What is the brand name of the DVD player? What's the model #?

Well I heard About Smidt (spelling?) was a really good movie? so i d/l'ed it from here, still havent watched it thou (and theres no way im watching it in front of my computer )
The quality was fantastic but of course it cant be watched on a normal home dvd player as is.

First off you should always watch a movie even if you don't want to make sure there are no bad frames, because if u encode and this is a bad frame it might cause an a/v out of sync (audio/video) or the movie might not play. By the way post the stats of the movie.

Check this out. There is format for video disc called X(S)VCD format the resolution is pretty damn high 720x480 NTSC 720x576 PAL Ive heard of people using it before but I don't know it will work in most DVD players u can get software to make this format @ the same site I sent you last time.

If the file u have right now is 704x480 then i can make it stay at the same resolution. This is what I will do I will download about smidt or whatever and encode for u.
