I used Demonoid and public trackers exclusively for a couple of years.

I recently traded a Demonoid invite for a Blackcats. Then a Blackcats account for Torrentleech. Then I got Music Vids and Oink for free on Siteinvites. Made Power User on Oink, and traded the invites for RevTT, BMT, KG, and TT. Those Oink invites are as good as gold, seriously!

Demonoid a year and a half ago... after I yoinked an invite in a Gabbly chat room while invisible. Before then, I used IRC, FTP, Rapidshare-type storage sites, and Usenet.
