Windows 98 Is Stuck On A Low Resaultion

I have got windows 98 and i recently formatted and re installed it, but now I cant get the resoultion up any higher than 640x.. so i install windows 2000 and its fine, goes up to 1600x... so whats with 98?

I havent played with 98 since about 98 and dont have a desire to ever again. Its really not a good o.s. as opposed to win 2000 and xp. It has a lot of limitations that simply cant be pushed too far.

Did you try installing updated drivers? Usually not being able to change resolution/color depth has to do with graphic drivers.

Yes it is the graphics card drivers, i had the same problem

I got ob graphice, but iv had 98 on already, the manufacture of the pc put it on for me, but then i had to format and its been like it ever since.
