Are you talking about the Windows Messenger? If your talking about the spam messages that randomly show up in the gray boxes heres what you do.

    Start
    Settings
    Control Panel
    Administrative Tools
    Services
Right click on 'Messenger' and click stop
Right click on 'Messenger' and click properties
    For 'startup type' choose 'Disabled'

That will stop the spam messages in the gray boxes.

Thanks for the reply. I apologize for not being clear. I was referring to a spam message blocker for email, Outlook to be exact. I did use your suggestion for the others. Thanks.

Ohhhh.... I don't think there is like an add-on for Outlook to block spam. Just forget about using Outlook and get MailWasher. Its free, and it's like Outlook, it checks your email and filters out the spam. Many options so you make it run the way you want. Give it a try if you'd like.
