    Hi,

this tutorial will almost work out the box for vectoral centOS (but you should have taken fedora core, much better...!), very easy to follow :

    https://filesharingtalk.com/vb3/f-gui...through-169620

just one more step to do, install the mscorefonts rpm, you won't see shit in utorrent without it, i have the rpm built for your distro, just pm me your mail so i can send it to you.

basically you need to do : rpm -Uvh the_rpm_name

just put the file on the server by ftp before

    good luck!

Why run linux if you're just gonna emulate windows on it?
    Simply get torrentflux installed. http://sourceforge.net/projects/torrentflux/

Edit: If you want some extra features like RSS scanning, try the b4rt fork http://tf-b4rt.berlios.de/

utorrent under wine is by far the easiest solution on linux

he just said he doesn't know much of linux, then installing torrentflux is out of question for him i'm pretty sure

anyway, torrentflux interface is plain crap

yum -y install httpd php mysql mysql-server php-mysql python
    chkconfig httpd on
    chkconfig mysqld on
    mysqladmin -u root password 'new-password'

After that, TF doesn't need installing, just uploading.
It also means you can run torrents on a <$5 VPS.
    xterm/wine/vnc requires something like 20+ packages at 60+MB, apache/php requires 5-10 at around 10-15MB.

The other advantage to setting up apache is that you can download your files to your home PC over http, which allows multiple threads for faster download. SFTP is slower than http.

i installed it on fedora core 6 some times ago and i remember more required steps

anyway, he is on a vectoral, so he don't give a damn about taking 60 megs disk space...!!

    i have 2 vnc's total..

i have utorrent setup and i can only get utorrent to run on one vnc

for the first vnc, i do wine utorrent.exe and that works on the first one but after utorrent is loaded, i can't get it to run again on the 2nd one

so basically i need a way to run utorrent twice at the same time

another problem is with my ftp, the speeds are slow....i've had this problem before and it was the tcp/ip buffer on the ftp that i had to edit and make it larger. i need to do the same on this one but i dont know how

make a new folder... copy another utorent in this folder, right click and create a shortcut... right click on the shortcut and add /RECOVER parameter on target field at the end... double click on the icon and the other instance of utorrent is starting up...

to be, or not to be... what do u choose?
