With win98 i disconnect form the net all the time, but with win2000 i never disconnect at all, i have to keep win98 on as its mum and dads pc. But is there a prog that will stop it dc all the time.

Might be a bad connection setting.. did u try usein TCP Optimizer, then goto File>Restore Windows Defualts?
