I have a tip that can realy increase your general dl speeds(some have better results than others).

If your a broadband cable/dsl user.
Use RegEdit and manualy adjust your recive buffer size.
set it to 64260. this is for typical latency which is what effects most users.

I f u dont want to manualy edit your registy go to P.C. Pitstop and use there
    Internet Speed Auto Fix.

You can also check your dl and upload speeds before and after u change your recive buffer size.

You should have positive results with this fix!

If u have recently updated Windows Scripting Host to ver. 5.6 than u might not want ot use the auto-fix but to do it manualy.....btw there is alot of problems associated with the updated version WSH.....

I'm sorry I should have been more specific and stated your TCP Receive Window.... If u know how to edit your registry you will know where to find that....

If you are new to editing your registry and want to know how to set your recive buffer size here u go......

1.Call up RegEdit..... Start/run/type RegEdit..........HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters...........u will see TCP Window Size set your recieve buffer size to 64260 o.k. and your done.

Please back up your registry before trying!

    Peace brotherdoobie

You can optimise this setting and others using TCPOptimizer.

Wow, Lamsey, thanks for that one!

Before configuring with this tool my best speed (of 3 tests) was 303.4kb/s.

Yes I might suggest using a program like Lamesy offered for those that have not edited your registry before.
I would reccomend the auto-fix at PC Pitstop however because the other registry changes in most optomizers dont realy do much.(such as mtu ect.ect)

Changing the recieve buffer size is realy the only one that will make a dramatic difference.

@Kazaaliterock if u still want to do it manualy it's in the parameter's folder between searshlist and usedomainname.

    Peace brotherdoobie B)
