    i was wondering how to compress a .wma type to a .avi or sometin that will save me some space on my hdd. what do i use to compress the .wma to a divx.avi or sometin like that.

    d/l a converter they are easy to find.


    heres the name of one that converts other types of video into .mpg's
    --- TEMPGEnc Plus 2.5 ---

    but that wont save u space........sorry

    ok i just found out that wmv is about 10x less then avi so forget what i wrote up there any body know where i can find a converter that let me convert avi into wmv?

    look up "avi to wmv" in google and see what u find there i found one but its not free..(Easy Video Converter 3.0)...try d/l'ing it off K-lite.

    okay never that one too. i just conver a avi to a wmv which turn out to be 4x the original size so how bout sometin to compress the video file period.

    now when u say compress a video do u mean to compress it in a way so that when its compressed you can still watch it or do u mean compress it
    to store (like a .zip)

    I don't suggest compressing an avi. If you wish to use your DVD player, then convert it to a mpg and make a VCD, nero works well.

    i know how to make it to a mpg what i want to know is how to compress the video file so the sze is smaller so i can save some hdd space.

    Can't unless you want to loose qulity. If it could be done all avi files would be 100k.
