Now that's another thing entirely. That's something I just do (not very well). There's a trick with positioning mirrors and windows and things which a bloke tried to explain to me about three times but I could never understand it.Do you have any tips on parallel parking?

Bizzarely, when driving a Ford Galaxy in Mallorca I was much better at parallel parking on the wrong side of the road.

why do we mostly park a car backwards?

It means that the wheels which are steering the car are effectively at the back of the vehicle. This gives you a tighter turning circle and means you can get into a smaller gap. Try driving straight into the same gap and it won't work.
That's why the wheels which steer a dumper are the back ones.
