Ive been looking for a good dvd to avi converter to back up my dvd collection to my hard drive. Ive downloaded a bunch of dvd backuo sofware but none seem to work well. Could you guys tell me some good programs for this.

The two best imo..is either Gordian knots the best program around for makin dvd rips or vidomi almost as good and slightly easier

Actually there is a program for that. It's called dvd2avi.

For a good, reliable way to convert your dvd's to .avi's i use the guides at afterdawn.com. I'm not sure as to how simple this is compared to other programs or ways of doing it... but i know that it works... and that's good enough for me.
