steam is CS 1.6 beta. it's free, and there is no cd key required. it's pretty much the same as regular CS with some bug fixes and stuff like that

yea it does. i would suggest u install service pack 1. get it from the windows update site. it might not matter, but i would recommend u get it. and it does work very well on xp. i'm playing it on xp.
