Building A Render Farm?

I got a extra 1.2ghz lying around here.. i was thinkin if it were possible to combine it's proccessing with my own 2.0ghz i use now.
I've heard about people making Render farms for processing Animation and stuff.. what software/hardware makes this easier to do?
just wonderin..
(I'll have to take the extra 128mb ramstick outta this comp i use now that i swiped from it also hehehe)
