Thanks for the warning, though I don't see anything about it destroying the hard drive on the Snopes assesment.
According to Snopes it leads to servers hosting malware which would be installed on your system. Including software to hijack your computer, to use as attacker bots. Kind of pointless if you want to use that PC, then destroy it's hard drive.
Snopes also gives entirely different advice on how to deal with the situation. Not by deleting the message instantly.
The thing you have posted looks awfully like a hoax, based on a real threat.
virus cant be so fast that can do something in a matter 0.01 sec on hitting reset button, it m8 do something on bootup.
but again on vista its hard to do it if UAC is on, infact aren't those sectors readonly when in use? one cant even scan boot sectors when windows is on.
