The most Hypocitical part is that Israel is treat differently.. not just from the rest of the Middle East, but the entire world.

Their Nuclear program is OK with no outside monitoring, every other country in the World has been open to UN inspections... including Iran.

You just can't go around saying things like that, however true. You are wasting your time. Your post will just be ignored and everything will move on.

    Next please.

True, it doesnt matter how many American Ships they sink or how many times Mossad get caught with their pants down trying to lay the blame on others. They're above reproach

I originally read your previous post and got the impression that you were saying western companies (i.e. the big oil companies) were the only ones with the technology and were being restricted by the sanctions that the US government has placed on American companies dealing with Iran.

Now what you're saying is that non-western countries (china, russia and probably some others) have the technology but are banned by UN sanctions from providing technology or equipment for the transmission and extraction of oil and gas. This seems a little odd to me, can you provide any links with more details or the number of the UN resolution, because all hte ones i've seen discussed on the web don't seem to say anything of this sort.

As for Iran not having the technology i also find that slightly strange reasoning, oil and gas extractino & transmission has been around for about a century or more, i'm sure much of the latest technology is proprietary to various companies, but if you're willing to accept a more wasteful / dangerous approach then i think nearly every country has the ability.
UN Resolution 1747 (24 Mar 2007) bans arms sales to and freezes assets of Iran, making it very difficult (but admittedly not impossible) for them to trade internationally.

Britain, France, Germany, the United States, Russia and China were due to meet today to discuss tightening the sanctions, but it appears that China has now pulled out.

As for capability, there are only a handful of companies around the world who currently have the capability to produce the massive pumps required for oil/gas pipelines. These are ALL in the West/Japan/S Korea. The reason is simply that the cost of failure is just too high.

Getting the oil flowing isn't the main problem, they have to be able to get it to stop too, and quickly. If the systems react too slowly (ie they can't stop the oil fast enough), then a failure in one pump could have a knock-on effect on the next pump up the line, and so on until all the pumps are damaged. Oops, no pipeline. "Sorry Mr Rafsanjani, I destroyed your oil production" isn't going to cut it.

it only freezes the assets of those individuals involved in procuring nuclear related technology, the annex to the resolution names the 13 or so companies which are affected + about 15 individual people. Iran currently does about £60 billion a year in trade.

Would it be fair to say that the UN has not sanctioned the export of oil related equipment?

not convinced but, since i lack any specialist knowledge, arguing any further would be pointless

I wasn't aware of that. Trust them to put it in the fine print.
