Right click on C: Drive and go to properties > Tools
and press the first option to scan the disk for errors. After its done do the second one for defragmenting. Also while you defrag, turn off any screen savers or power save options. That might stop defrag operation in between.
As balaam said, searching on google is the best thing to do. Hope this helps for the time being.
