newsgroups have NFO's just like every other place with releases.
I've only gotten 1 bad release from NG's and it was just 'cause it had a PW, and it even stated that in the NFO. You must not know much about searching if you get that bad of results.

are there people there to comment about the release like in trackers?

um no, but there are countless sites dedicated to this, you do not need a private community to see if a rls is nuked or good quality.
