Yeah it should work fine on win 98, however i've not tried it myself i use XP.

The only thing i could suggest is using a different client, there are many out there and i'm sure one will work. Juts try downloading them from the list on my guide and try each one.

is it possable to run btorrent on 98 i have been using it for 7 months on xp but i cant get it to work on 98 .
i have installed btorrent prog when i select a file to download it says
problem getting response info-ernno 2 no such file or directory
    c:\\windows\\temporary internet
    any ideas??
I had the same problem with ME, but what i did was what it says up in the first post. Right click the torrent u want to download and save it to which ever folder, then open the folder and open the file and it should work. Unless you have a different problem, or i could just be talking out of my a**e. Well it works for me, hope i helped

Ok, finally i've had some time to give this guide a bit of an update. Its becoming hard to keep up with the every increasing improvements in bittorrent and there are many forums purely based on this specific file sharing tool.

Hopfully this should help any beginner get started with bittorrent.

If i've missed anything or you have any questions just say and i will try to add it when i have time.

I think you ought to mention to newbies that the BitTorrent network really isn't "searchable". Base your answer on this.

    Newbie you say,

go Here for an experimental search mirror

Now, can anyone answer my question (sensibly)

by the way this is unavailable or down

Ok, peerguardian does work with bittorrent, i would use it if you get files from suprnova, i've had a few hits from mpaa and riaa while downloading from there. I would add though that sometimes you can block ip's of ordinary users that accidently get caught up in the ip ranges. Personally i dont use it while using bittorrent, but i'm from the uk and am not really too worried about this sort of thing at the moment, nor do i use suprnova much.

Amarjit i'll add that, but you can search for torrents, its just isnt built into the program. However some of the clients do have this feature built in.

There are some few experimental Search engines:
    http://www.watchen.tv
    http://episodes-first.dnsalias.com
    http://www.torrentsearch.net/search.htm
    http://boogle.sharelive.com (down at the moment)

and there's a Suprnova dedicated one:
