But not in a vacuum!
Fair point, if there were such thing as a total vaccum, on earth, with a tree living in it.

Aliens? you just have to walk about Glasgow at night to see creatures that cannot possibly be described as human..............
yeah, its true - i was in a shop in Glasgow and this woman with really big hair walked in, it was scary because it looked physically impossible for her hair to be soo big, she looked just like that woman from Mars Attacks!

@ JP - Sorry that I don't have a huge sheet of facts, and calculations to show you. But I haven't gone so far as to try and prove my hypothesis.

It just seems so highly improbable to me that if in fact it were even possible for beings from another world to visit ours... then it would still be highly unlikely that they would choose our little marble to spend their vacations on.

IMO the possibility is so minute as to be insignificant - therefore I regard it as being zero.

I wasn't asking for a huge sheet of facts, just an idea of how you reached your conclusion.

I seem to upset you every time I ask you a question. At least it appears that way to me, by your responses. I must attempt not to do that in future.

So your "hypothesis" is purely intuitive. Fair enough, I was only wondering.

But my dear JPaul - How can you be sure that it makes a sound if no-one's around to hear it...

No, no JP - I am not upset by you.

Rather the contrary. I find it flattering that you regard my opinions worth responding to.

I'm sorry if my replies to you seem in any way harsh or curt. I only wish to raise the level of my comments to more closely match your own remarks - since you generally seem more serious than I when posting.

By all means - don't stop!

Not at all, quite the reverse, they seem defensive.

I have never taken you as being either harsh or curt. If you were I must have missed it.
