Thread: Has Riaa Subpoeaned Aol Yet?

  1. #1
Of course, RIAA has been filing more subpoeanes then it has arms, and I've been reading that it has been filing most subpoeans with Comcast and Verizon (no surprise).

I also read that AOL hadn't received any subpoenas (of those 871, probably more now). My question is why? I read that RIAA is a partner to AOL, or vice-a-versa. Perhaps they subpoena their partners? Or perhaps they do.

I have WMCONNECT (wal-mart connect). I asked them as to whether or not they were owned by AOL. They said they were. It must be, because my IP address appears as:
    uioura.rujad.fjoa.ipt.aol
    So, am I technically aol?

    Thank you.
    Brad

hahaha AOL thats funny, Damn you might be able to download a couple of songs a week on tha isp. You might want to upgrade so you really might have a chance of getting a subpoena!!!!!

AOL is a member of the RIAA. (with the Timer-Warner merge)

I wonder if their next version will include spyware to catch sharers.

I have Wmconnect, which is owned by AOL, so I don't know if I'm technically under that IP, but I do use the same dial up numbers as aol. I traced my IP and I got this:
    ........traced to: cache-mtc-ah02.proxy.aol.com
So does that mean I'm technically on AOL?
