I use to listen to rap music years ago, finally gave it up jan of 2003. Rap is dead to me, and its not very positive music. But i always listen to alt rock, so that gets my vote.

Rock, definitely. Rap, for me, is not musical. I'm not saying it's not artistic in its own way, but I enjoy music where they play real instruments and actually have a vocal melody. Additionally, I find most of the music I listen to needs some sort of guitar (rock/metal/punk/prog etc), which rap also lacks.
