from Vista to Xp (specific machine)

Hi everyone, I'm kinda anxious right now, lol.
A friend of the family just brough me a new PC that she needs customized.

See, a few weeks ago she told me that she needed a new PC for the children,
so I told her to get it over the border at San Diego (US), because of pricing and product quality.
Thought, I said, most probable the PC will have Vista installed, so you might want to have it downgraded once you buy it.

Well, guess what, she just brought me the new Comp,
geez, she wants me to downgrade it to Xp, plus in Spanish edition

OmG, what did I get my self into

.
I'm afraid that compatibility issues might arise due to the computer being
designed for Vista.
Anyway, the machine is a HP Pavilion a6200n,
in my opinion, it is a more than decent system.

So right now I'm doing as much research as possible before I get on with the task

.
But still, as always, some of you might have useful tips or advice, anything.

Open up the PC and grab the motherboard info.
You'll have to find XP drivers for the chipset, video, ethernet etc. direct from the manufacturer of the parts rather than HP.

Shouldn't be too terribly difficult.

Yep, as long as you have the drivers or can get them there shouldn't be any problems.

I don't think you really need to open up the PC and grab the motherboard information. I've seen many times where there wasn't much identification on the motherboard. All you should need is the manufacturer and the model number to grab the drivers. In fact, since it's a brand new computer I'd even consider calling customer service, telling them what you are up to and if they can give you a web site address for the needed XP drivers.

Download Cpuz or everest to get all the Mobo or system info needed. Good luck with installing an XP Spanish Edition, Shouldn't be too hard though if you get a multilanguage version. Also online forums are your best friends when you run into problems or specific questions you may need answered.

More than likely, Everest and CPUz will just give the HP info which won't do much good since they offer no XP drivers for the PC.

Broken's idea about calling customer service might be worthwhile...you are certainly not the first person to try this and they may be nice and help you out.

You shouldn't really have a problem just get the MoBo info like Clocker said and go to their website they should have the all the drivers you need there. I'v recently downgraded a Sony Vaio laptop that had vista and I used the black XP edition it has tons of drivers in it where I really didn't have to do much as far as finding drivers.

right now I am creating the Recovery Discs, just in case.
