That's funny... I am also paid by my sis who runs one of our three drug stores (or pharmacies - I still don't know which form is correct). Moreover I happen to study logistics on an economical faculty of Szczecin's University...

You can always say that you know more, because nobody can know everything, but my actual knowledge makes it possible 4 me 2 run my own business...

O.k. i feel its time to add my two cents here. Since the "cover" on all this is "suppos" to be about the artists...lets talk about them for a minute. Being a serious musician as im sure at least a few of us in here are, look at the other inside scoop. Does anyone have an idea roughly how much $$ the average indie rapper made off thier last ALBUM SALES? How long are thier tours? Now how about the average "signed to a label" rock or metal band? The difference is night and day. The misconseption is that once a band gets "signed" everything is smooth sailing. In a way it is. That phat jag you see them driving in isnt really theirs. Its the record labels, and so is the house and everything in it. The image has to be presented to keep the new talent drooling for the $$. A signed band tends to make 99% of thier cash from touring and merchandise...NOT record sales. In all actuallity, for the most part newly signed bands make less off thier album sales than they would working for Mc D's. This seems to be the trend until around the 3rd album...as long as the at least go gold. Anyone remember the "black album tour" ? Thats where their $$ came from...years on the road, and thats why metal guys party..live on a bus being away from your family for that long. Now do you remember this summers "St. Anger tour"? it was all of 15 or so shows......hmm..wonder why the tickets were $75 a piece. No need for the money...among other things. No go back and look at that indie rapper again. Hes pimpin. Those guys record and produce thier discs themselves. These days...if your a rapper and you put out a good disc and have a few contacts...your golden. Look at how much the Major Labels loose in this situation...and they have no control over them since they dont have a claim on everything they own. Now to the P2P. How friggin easy is it to make your own recording studio these days? What about pressing your own discs....doing your own artwork? Not much effort at all. The bands of yesterday are gone. Anyone remember how larger than life guys like motley crue and gnr were back in the day? Now anyone can be musician, make and sell thier own music...its not hard. And your right, it is about the money, but not artists, they dont make shit off the discs unless they own thier own label. This is our time to "stand up and shout!" people...because i live in a small town where people dont say a friggin word. And it shows too (like in the way if you get a D.U.I.) they impound the vehicle for a year, no matter who owns it. And its a $30 a day storage fee. Thats only the beginning. City imposed smoking bans...it will only get worse if we dont fight!! What happens 10 years from now when ya wish you would have sent that email while you were waiting on that file? Anyone remember the P.M.R.C. ?!

alright i've had quite enough of all this RIAA bullshit.....this is just another form of terrorism and stealing money from hardworking people. I'm not anti-government but certainly enough to hate this shit. I was watchin a show a few days ago and it said that madonna toured one year and came back with around 16 mil in total benefits. that was about 16 years ago and with all the increase prices for tickets artists make even more money.....the radio is still on......another chunk of money. to add to the increase of money. celebrities and musicians don't have to spend a dime to get shit. non known bands may still have to but thats beyond the point. celebrities get free stuff all the time getting free food and everything....some celebrities have enough money invested in cars to last a normal american a lifetime. i've sent all that stuff and all i gotta say is if they do catch me...heheh they wont....the computer will be gone.... this could be random babbling because i'm kinda tired not enough sleep ever.

This is my first time coming to this site, and the first topic I clicked on. As soon as I read the letter and knew what it could mean if I sent it, I did it without hesitation. I agree with most replys here. If you don't agree, stop sharing so you don't get arrested when the RIAA gets what they want. Love, Peace, and Share.
