They only give out invites on special occasions, and also to those that ask for them (and mainly they are to those nordic members most active), so yes, you have to be active to get one, they just don't give out invites randomly as they are fully aware of the "value" of those invites at places such as here for example.
All I'm suggesting is that if he didn't ask, and he isn't nordic, then best check with staff to see if genuine or not, otherwise we will have another napster5 incident.
