You know you want to, you know you can. You're an intelligent self determining individual who is currently poisoning her/himself, with absolutely no benefit from it.

You know you are massively increasing your risk of heart problems, absolutely destroying your whole breathing system and doing fuck knows what damage to the rest of your body. You know all these things, you're an intelligent person.

Image yourself as a 68 year old just diagnosed with lung cancer, or emphysema, or throat cancer or one of a myriad other things. You've just been given a year to live, if live be the right word, coz you will be in serious pain for most of that time. Not just physical pain, mental and emotional as well. Wondering why you did this to yourself. Wondering why you did it to the people you love, who will now watch you slowly waste away.

Imagine you could come back in time and plead with yourself to stop smoking. Not to have to go through this. To attend your children's weddings and actually dance. Not to be the sad wee figure, sitting in the corner in a wheelchair. Occasionally puffing on an oxygen mask. To know your grandchildren and to walk with them. Not to be lying in a bed, weighing 5 stone, being "fed" thro' a tube and having other tubes up your nose to "breathe" thro".

Imagine this is that plea, gonae stop it for fuck's sake. I beg you.

She Who Must Be Ignored gave them up yesterday.

34 hours and counting. My life is a living hell at the moment. I'd rather be on an oxygen mask. Might get some sympathy.

However, I resolve to try on Jan 1st 2008.

Knocked the weed on the head so the cancer is next.
