I haven't used a mac for quite some time but back then I mainly used xchat aqua because it is an adaption of the unix/linux based client xchat (that was remodded with a mac theme to run natively). It hasn't been updated for a while though.

meh, xchat is pretty good for me. No need to run another program to just run another program.
