    can somebody recommend me a file hosting service that is easy, fast, reliable and free.

    most important:

    it should allow uploads up to 1gb and should host them for a minimum of one week.

    afaik its like rapidshare but you can host bigger files, and not only 100mb x 100 files

    UP to 1GB and i suggest you to register it's all free
    and btw megashares is being monitored by medisentry so i don't suggest you megasucks...
