The newer version always has additional features that older version doesn't has, despite of it's stability I think I would keep choosing 1.7.6, even though someday it's reported having trouble/bug, it'll get fixed in time.
On the other side, the trackers will keep go on with the new version. They surely always update their torrent client lists from time to time. So we, their users, just have to keep follow their rules
