What's some music that will feed my brain? Some funky and interesting stuff with poetic lyrics is what I'm looking for.

Geez...funky can mean sooo many things, to me at least...and poetry the same way...
Tricky comes to mind when I think of interesting, funky, poetry...Go for some of his earlier works, his newer stuff is ehhhh...I could be way off of square from what you are lookin' for but again, funky and poetry can have so many sides ;P

I dunno what you mean by feed your brain, I usually listen to progressive trance when I am studying and it helps me to study and do homework for long periods of time. When I am just chilling I will listen to hip-hop, techno and hard trance. Hope this helps.

Funky go for some James Brown, Marvin Gaye, Curtis Mayfield, or Michael Jackson. Also so Alicia Keyes, Lauryn Hill or Mary J Blige might do.

    No these chicks.

They're known for blending classical and dance music together. It's very good stuff to listen to if you like the those genres.
