Though my latter day crimes are far less severe. These days I smuggle liquids on the plane so I don't have to throw them away. Don Julio is is pricey over here.

There's generally a bad connotation about smuggling. Contrabands (like cigarettes, weeds, wines) are not the only items that can be "smuggled". Technically, if you import or export something without paying the custom duties, it is considered "smuggling."

I accidentally brought a large bag of bush-weed back from South Africa about 14 years ago.I had left it in my jacket pocket which went in to my suitcase and was forgotten about until a week after I got home.
