Anyways, this is probably overanalyzing the film.
I thought the very same thing about the whole genre when I was writing my bit.

Well, it's a pleasure to talk to someone who actually thinks about what they're watching.
Bonus points for slipping "nascent" into a post- might be a FST first.

He managed to get both parts wrong.

    2 Days in the Valley(1996).

Someone once described it as Pulp Fiction meets Short Cuts and that isn't too far from the mark.

The plot ,though much too complicated to easily explain, involves disparate characters brought together by an Olympic hopeful's plot to knock off her ex.

The film has gratuitous sex, intense violence, black comedy and an extremely competent killer with a thing for his stop watch.

A terrific cast but special mention should be made of James Spader as the afore mentioned killer and a truly dazzling Charlize Theron in her first credited role.

Interesting French film/mockumentary about a serial killer and his thoughts about philosophy and life, etc. The things he says are very interesting and intriguing. Great film but definitely NOT everyone's cup of Joe.
