    The Magdalene Sisters.
Jesus God, the most depressing thing I've seen in ages.

It has been estimated that 30,000 women were admitted during the 150-year history of these institutions, often against their will. The last Magdalene Asylum in Ireland closed on September 25, 1996.
Not a strict documentary (although there is one included with the DVD), the movie does depict real characters.

No happy endings here, kids. Real survivors of the Laundries, used as consultants for the movie, say that things were even worse than what's shown.
If you're looking for a film to get outraged over, this is your ticket.

    Aargh, I need a drink.

Stealing Sinatra- William H. Macy, David Arquette.
Based on the true story of the kidnapping of Frank Sinatra, Jr.

A trio of idiots, inept beyond belief, actually manage to kidnap the son of Frank Sinatra.
William H. Macy plays a character he might as well patent by now, the bumbling loser best personified by Jerry Lundegaard in Fargo.
Crime was certainly much simpler in those days.

After watching the film I wikied the kidnapping.
The real story is just as bizarre as the movie.
The trio's ringleader was sentenced to life plus 75 years but was paroled after only 4 1/2 years.
Hell, these days you can serve longer for jaywalking.
