You really like complex films it seems ligerpt. All of those films you named are really top notch but not a easy view among them. They all demand your complete attention.
I think that you're probably aware a remake of Shutter was just released but it pales compared to the original.
And markupmaster don't be frightened away Donnie Darko is a confusing, challenging, but richly rewarding film. Do yourself a favor and watch it soon and maybe let me know what you thought of it.

    Yep!
I love complex movies. I'm always trying to find new ones.
I'm aware of Shutter remake but not very excited. 90% of the remakes are worst than the original.
If you have a good complex movie suggestion, let me know.

    Try this Dark City(1998) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118929/

( I'd add Fight Club but I'm pretty sure everyone's seen it.)

    Try Primer.

I had to watch it twice just to get a clue and still have only a tenuous grip on the whole plotline.
There is a forum devoted to unraveling the timeline but I'm not that devoted.

    Still, a very interesting flick.

    Wow you're right clocker,perfect choice.
I remember you mentioning that in another post so I checked it out.It reminded me in some ways like a couple movies from the 60's where you are constantly questioning where the plot is leading you to.

I thought I had a pretty good idea of what was going on till the last third of the film, where the third "time machine" shows up...it was all downhill from there.

It's an interesting movie in one respect because it doesn't bother (or deign) to set up the story at all...it just starts in the middle and leaves it to the viewer to figure out what's going on. Then, just when you think you've caught up, it goes nuts again.

Also interesting because it's so low budget (around $7000, IIRC) yet actually looks very professional.
