I'm gonna install Windows XP Corp with SP1, and I want a clean installation, without using the backup discs that HP gave me when i bought my comp. I know that if you start the comp with a startup disc and type something in dos mode, you could format the watever partition. Wat's the thing u type in dos? is it like format C:\ blah blah

Just pop in a xp disk and turn your pc on and let it boot of the disk and it will go into advanced installation mode. It will give you the option to format the whole drive or erase and create partitions.
