Ya thats a bummer but whats the alternatives the ISP throttles your download speed ? I like the idea for all media . In Canada were already being taxed for blank media like cd disks , Mp3 players and burners .

It will never happen anyway as the industry is already fighting over it .

There are some problems with this. It only helps the music, but today there is so much more piracy than just music - should they get nothing? Secondly yes, the people that don't download music pay for nothing, the big fans don't pay that much - unbalanced payment system.

I liked more the idea of PlayLoader MSP - the ISP was intended for music-sharing people, whoever wanted to share music would get their tariffs at a little higher price than usual internet subscription. PlayLoader would allow file-transfers within their network, but no distribution out of it. The MP3s get counted to offer statistics for the music makers and maybe to fairly split the money. But the deal is you can legally share that music. A fantastic idea, but I haven't heard much about them for long time.

unless there is an opt out option it is just a way for the labels to capitalize another way and chances are they'll still bitch and attack the bt users out there.
