My comp is a piece of shit. It only has 128 meg of SDRAM, and the additional ram is like $50!!
Is there any good RAM optimizers that will clean your RAM while your comp is running. I know about MemTurbo, but the program is shitty, and it doesn't work very well

analogx ram (maxmem) optimizer or the ram optimizer in tweak xp pro.

http://www.analogx.com/ Make sure you adjust the settings accordingly if you use that because if not it will strip away most of the ram needed for other programs.

MPower, available from here, is small, free and seems to work OK.

I prefer Cacheman, but it takes up 3 megs itself.

RAM Def XT imo is the best. Freeware also.

There are two types of memory optimizers. The ones that allow you to optimize your memory right then and there. And then the ones that reside in memory contsantly optimizing your ram at periodic intervals. Maxmem is the type that runs in the background and constantly optimizes your ram. You can also disable it from the sytem tray.

Since you only have 128 megs of ram you obviously dont need something thats going to reside in memory constantly. Your best bet is to get a program where you can open it up, optimize your ram and then close the program out. Thus, eliminating what you stated in your post

To do that I would just use something like tweak xp pro. But not everyone likes tweak xp pro so if thats your case and you want a ram optimizer only, Im sure you can find a decent one based on the previous post from other members.

Or you might want to give RAM booster a shot....very simple but it has some nice features

Cacheman is what i use, but as lamsey said it takes up a tiny bit of ram itself.
    signature removed, check the boardrules.

i use AnalogX - but nothing beats a good reboot, if your comp is still slow after restarting you need more RAM

128mb is too small in this day and age, crucial.com usually have good prices (not right now though because prices just went up)
