vncserver has been replaced by vnc4server. Just changing vncserver with vnc4server solves the problem.
Hi again !
Another problem here, that shouldn't be a problem for linux users: when I try to create the SSH certificate for VSFTPD, I have the following error message:
/root/vsftpd.key: Permission denied
Any advice ? ![Crying](//i.filesharingtalk.com/smilies/crying.gif)
Dunno why, it works better by using Terminal (Putty for Windows users).
Heh.

Hi all
new to these forums and new to linux,
I'm keen to get into some dedicated seedboxing and learn a little bit of Lunix while I'm at it ![Wink](//i.filesharingtalk.com/smilies/wink.gif)
questions is, this (great) guide has a few version of certain linux distributions in it along with specific steps for these.
My options only include the following versions, will this guide still be pretty much spot on?
Also, any advice on which of the following I should pick would also be very much appreciated
(from OVH)
Fedora 11
11 64bit
Kernel 2.6.31.5-grs (OVH)
Linux Plesk 9
9 (CentOS 5.2)
Kernel 2.6.31.5-std (OVH)
Linux Plesk 8.4
8.4
Kernel 2.6.31.5-grs (OVH)

Ubuntu Server 8.04

Works great, really great.
I use it myself with Transmission Daemon (better solution than uTorrent IMHO), and I am pleased with it so far.

Ah, sorry...
Ubuntu Server 9.10 will work great with the current guide, anyway.
You can try with it, and then, if you feel confident enough then, you can try Transmission, which is quite easy to install.

Hello all,
I'm a total n00b to linux but read this guide and thought it worth a go. I'm stuck though on what is probably something very simple. I got to step 6 installing utorrent. I have it on the server but when i type wine utorrent.exe it comes up with the installation wizard. This confused me as the guide says cancel install, when i do that how do i then launch utorrent if its not installed?
xterm does show an error:
Xlib: extension ''generic Event Extension'' missing on display '':1.0''
The guide is great btw... just hope I manage to learn something from it

Had the same problem. It's not covered in the guide, so don't blame yourself. :-)
Just type "wine utorrent.exe /noinstall" and you'll be done.
