    Ok...a 80GB hard drive 7200 RPMs cost like 80 bux...or a 18GB hard drive 10000 RPMs cost like 150...wtf ...why does it make SUCH a difference??

    its the speed the discs spin.. 7200rpm is revolutions per minute the faster they spin the quicker the transfer of data

    10,000 is faster. Usually scsi drives are that fast not IDE.

    ok men...thats the OBVIOUS lol..what does faster RPMs mean though??? whats the extra 120 bux for??

    Revolutions Per Minute.

    Faster rotation means faster data transfer speed. Better performance.
