Hey, I have a Gateway 700 series pentium 4 at 2.6GHZ 512 RAM 80G harddrive. im thinking of adding memory, im thinking a 256 chip, but should i get the 256 or go ahead and spend a little extra and have a full gig of memory? I hope to get your feedback thx

if you're using the computer for a lot of hard work, like encoding graphics tasks, or gaming then 1 gig would be better than 768 obviously

however, if you only use the comp for browsing/chatting whatever, then 512 is probably ok

Unless you are creating 3D graphics or hardcore editing movies than you have more than enough.
