Why was the title salvaged? Collision? Flood damage?
A salvaged title can be a very risky buy (or trade).
If the damage were rear end collision, I'd say you're probably find but if front end, I would very weary.
Take a mechanic you trust to go look at the car and give it a good inspection. I'm not talking about your buddy who "knows about cars" either, but a professional.
If you don't have one, go to the Chevy dealership and proposition a mechanic there and that you'll give him $50 to do it.
