My Computer always and constantly stays at 100% CPU Usage.
If its a virus are there any steps on getting rid of it?
I have Norton but it does'nt say anything on a full system scan
Thanks

Also I want to add that I have 512 megs of ram and only 221 is availible
if 221 is available, then 100% isnt in use. i assume your taking about ram?
signature removed, check the boardrules.
No. He is talking about CPU usage. Have you tried to restart your PC?
what are you doing with it?
are you using it for anything, or is sitting idle?
check task manager for running processes and see what exactly is using up your cpu power

I dont know
It just stays at 100% CPU Usage
but I also have low RAM
I checked all the processes and they look normal.
The computer dont look or run as if its in 100% maybe its a bug......
Thanks alot anyways

what is your CPU speed? the last few Kazaa releases seem to just be real resource hogs. with a 1ghz CPU, K-Lite was using 90% or more... and now that i upgraded to 2ghz, it hangs around 40%-50%.
if it's possible to find it, you might wanna try digging up a Kazaa Lite version from 6 months ago (or older) and see how it does.
i'm a little puzzled by this...Originally posted by 3RA1N1AC@6 August 2003 - 06:23

i have an athlon 2700 (2.17GHz clock) and 512 meg of ram
when i use kazaa (version 2.4.0), with approx 2 active downloads and 1 active upload, my cpu usage is normally between 1 and 3%
the highest i've seen was 8 i think
why is there such a range in the values of cpu usage?

Look in the task manager and see what process is using the cpu.
it's prolly to do with how many transfers you've got going simultaneously, as well.Originally posted by 3rd gen noob@5 August 2003 - 22:02

maybe if you have a lot of large files transferring, the CPU usage goes through the roof. but for any program to constantly be going at 90-100%, that's still a bit excessive. it would be understandable if you were doing audio/video editing and it needed that kind of power to process the data... but it's just a fileshare program...
