Sdram To Ddr Ram Slot Converter

I think my motherboard's ram slots only allow SDRAM to fit, but is there a converter i could plug into the 3 slots to gain 3 DDR memory slots instead?
The motherboard is pretty new because it has the latest features on everything else such as USB 2.0, AGP 8x, etc.

im pretty green on this stuff at the mo but i think it has more to do with bandwith and less to do with slot sizes.
you motherboad might only beable to handle the bandwith of SD Ram and not DDR.
plus ther is other compatability issues

The SDRAM which you have will not be compatible with the DDR RAM. Even if it was you would not want to use it. 1/2 GB of DDR RAM will probably cost you less than half of what you purchased the SD100 RAM for.

The Pentium IV Processors were first offered with the RAMBUS Ram 400 MHz (not really faster than DDR 266 because the RAMBUS uses 16 bit paths where the DDR RAM uses 32 bit paths). I thought this was a big mistake, however motherboards are now being offered for the Pentium IV with the DDR RAM Memory slots

Think you misunderstood his post. He was asking if there was a device that would allow the use of DDR on a SDram board.

It's not just the physical socket, the chipset won't drive DDR memory.
By definition, DDR ram sends (or receive) data on both the rising and falling clock cycle, but the chipset can only handle data on the rising clock.

shortly after the introduction of DDR, there were a few motherboard models that had both SDRAM and DDR SDRAM slots, just to make it more convenient for people who wanted to upgrade their boards and continue using old RAM.

but no, you have to buy the correct type of RAM for your motherboard nowadays.
