If that says is being used by another process then the problem are not in the torrents by in the client, or another app messing with them.

Do you have anything by "Roxio" installed? Uninstall it and try the downloads again

This happened to me the other day.It was because NOD32 thought the file had a virus in it so it stopped it from downloading.I almost guarantee that is what is happening here check it out.
If you have NOD32 open the control center then click on logs and check on the threat log and see what it says!

Yes, I do. I'll try that but why should it help?

Sorry, can you elaborate? I do not not know what or where NOD32 is.
It is an antivirus program so i guess if you don't know what it is you don't have it.
If you do then go to the start menu then All Programs Then ESET then NOD32 Control Center. Then when it comes up go to LOGS and THREAT LOG and look to see if it says anything in there about the torrent you are trying to download. It also could be any other anti virus program you are using.
To the OP I would recommend you use utorrent 1.77 or azureus 3. One of those versions. Also when your client acts up just restart your client and sometimes even your computer. Also make sure your bittorrent client program is allowed in the allowed programs list in your anti-virus program. Just some suggestions and advice.
Excuse Me?
Didn't Think So!
OP here:
Got rid of Roxio and as I fully expected, it didn't help any. Tried SgtMajor suggestion (see post above) ---> I cannot delete the failed files from the download folder. I get an error message saying access is denied.
What the ...?
I will try another client as my next try.
(btw, how CAN I ever get rid of the incomplete files out of the download folder?)

Shut down, restart in safe mode, then remove the files, something is trying to access them so they will always appear be being used by another process.
Then restart and copy back.
Yes Sir, I'm Right On It!!
