Now that's some great music taste.

My favourite it's the third solo from "Dogs" by Pink Floyd.

Stairway to Heaven and Brothers in Arms comes a close second.

I'd have to say the solo from "Comfortably Numb" by Pink Floyd

I've lost my faith in guitar players from this one thread. Stairway to heaven = best guitar solo?

Wheres Dimebag? Malmsteen? Loomis? Amott Brothers? Where are the talented guitarists with kickass good solos in all aspects from emotion to speed?

Anywho, no such thing as the best guitar solo, that's like saying who's you're favorite child, you can do it but it's so very wrong haha

    My picks:

    1) The Last Enemy and/or Vultures - Arch Enemy
    2) Born and/or The Heart Collector- Nevermore
    3) Black Star and/or Far Beyond the Sun - Malmsteen
    4) Jato Unit and/or Miles of Machines - Jeff Loomis
    5) Splintered Visions - Into Eternity
    6) The Trooper - 'Maiden

Brain fart. Anyways, this list can go on forever, grab some John Petrucci, some Hendrix, there are so many better songs/artists out there that can write a hell of a good solo full of emotion that moves you. Be bold, try something different instead of sticking to what everyone else is sticking to if you catch my drift, other wise you'll miss some great music!

Don't flame without actually listening to the songs I listed, specifically the solos...

P.S. highly recommend people to listen to the outro solo to Bridge of Destiny by Arch Enemy (5:30 into the song)

Jeff Loomis: He's so good, he doesn't need to be dead to have a tribute.

    Ted Nugent - Stranglehold

    The guitar dominates this song.
